Safe and Together CORE - 4 Days

Delivered using First Nations Strategies

The Safe & Together Model is an international, perpetrator pattern–based framework for transforming how systems and practitioners respond to domestic abuse and child maltreatment. It applies a child-centered, strengths-based, and systems-informed approach that shifts the focus from blaming protective caregivers to holding perpetrators accountable as parents.

Recognising the vital role frontline workers play in the well-being of First Nations communities, The Southern Cross Model has been adapted for the effective delivery across Australia. The model equips frontline workers with the tools and insights needed to respond appropriately to the unique challenges faced by First Nation men. It serves as a bridge between traditional healing practices and modern service delivery, ensuring culturally sensitive and responsive care.

Cultural supervision and mentoring in the family, domestic and sexual violence sector is essential to building safe, culturally responsive and accountable practice. Additionally FDSV work carries a significant risk of vicarious trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue. Regular supervision supports practitioner wellbeing, resilience and sustainability in the role.

The Brief Intervention Perpetrator Response Program is a culturally grounded, structured intervention that organisations can purchase and implement directly with First Nations men who use family violence. It provides a ready-to-deliver, accountability-focused framework grounded in the Southern Cross Practice Model, supporting safe, consistent and community-centred responses.
