Hi Peeps,
Taking a week out to holiday in Cairns was exactly what I needed.
Life on the road has been an incredible journey—balancing consultancy work, training, community visits and thousands of kilometres of driving, mostly on my own. While every community has left its mark on me, I realised it was time to slow down for a moment, recharge the batteries, and spend some quality time with Willy and my daughter, Suzy.
It was the perfect opportunity to reset, reflect on everything we've achieved so far, and map out the next stage of the Boomerang on the Road journey.
While I may have been on holiday... the work certainly wasn't!
Behind the scenes there has been plenty happening, and I'm excited to share a few updates.
Safe and Together™ CORE Training – Registrations Now Open
I'm looking forward to delivering more Safe and Together™ CORE Training through a First Nations lens across Australia.

If you've been thinking about completing Safe and Together™ CORE Training, now is the perfect time. Whether you work in child protection, family and domestic violence, health, justice, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations or the broader community services sector, this training provides practical tools to keep children visible, partner with the non-offending parent, and increase accountability for the person using violence.

UWA Micro-credential – Working with Men in Domestic Family Violence
Another exciting milestone is that the second intake of the University of Western Australia Micro-credential, Working with Men in Domestic Family Violence – A Culturally Responsive Approach (SWSPM103), has officially commenced.
Designing this course has been one of the highlights of my career.
Developed in partnership with the University of Western Australia, the course responds to the growing need for practitioners to confidently engage with men who use domestic and family violence through culturally responsive, evidence-informed practice grounded in First Nations perspectives.
Throughout the program, participants explore:
- Understanding men who use violence through a First Nations lens.
- Perpetrator pattern-based practice.
- Accountability and behaviour change.
- Child-centred and family-focused approaches.
- Cultural responsiveness and community healing.
- Practical skills to strengthen professional practice.
The goal is simple—to build a workforce that is confident, culturally responsive and equipped to contribute to safer families, stronger communities, and long-term reductions in family and domestic violence.
This year's intake is now full, and registrations have closed.
If you missed out, I'd encourage you to pop it in your calendar for July 2027. It truly is a unique learning experience, and I can't wait to welcome the next group of practitioners.
Looking Ahead
The road trip continues, and so does the work.
I'm currently planning my 2026–2027 National Tour, delivering consultancy, community engagement, cultural supervision, workshops, and Safe and Together™ training across Australia.
