Chapter 3 - 18.03.2026

Published on 18 March 2026 at 11:28

This week I made a very deliberate decision not to work directly in community. That meant no training deliveries, workshops, yarning circles, or filming. Instead, I gave myself the space to focus on some important behind-the-scenes work.

My priorities this week were reviewing training content, catching up on emails, preparing materials for an upcoming online micro-credential course, and—equally important—making time for some necessary self-care.

During this time, I revisited several sections of my training content that I will be delivering in the coming weeks. I felt deeply inspired while working through the material and am really pleased with the progress that has been made. The training package is now more structured, the language has been refreshed, and the content has been further strengthened to ensure it is culturally aligned, trauma-informed, and grounded in domestic violence–informed practice. I am genuinely looking forward to delivering it for the first time in its updated format.

I am also incredibly honoured to be partnering with University of Western Australia to design and coordinate an online micro-credential course. This course will provide foundational knowledge around Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) while supporting practitioners to develop culturally safe engagement practices when addressing these issues in communities.

Alongside this work, I spent time progressing a few other projects that I am involved in. I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to travel around Australia while continuing to work remotely. Finding a balance between work and life on the road has been one of the best decisions I have made.

At the beginning of this journey, things felt a little clunky as I adjusted to living out of a suitcase and running an office from the road. I quickly learned to simplify—to carry only what I truly need and to be more intentional about the work I say “yes” to and the opportunities I choose not to pursue. For me, this shift has been about creating a more balanced life where work and adventure can sit alongside each other.

One particularly special moment this week was spending time doing art therapy with my two little nephews. They are incredibly creative little peeps, and it was such a joy to share that time together.

Now, feeling rested and restored, I’m ready to continue the journey and keep collecting stories along the way. If you have a story you would like to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Every story matters, and every voice deserves to be heard.

This week also marked a bit of a personal reckoning for me. I’m officially on the road—travelling around Australia, living out of a bag, and running an office wherever I happen to land. Three weeks in, and I’m loving it. Ask me again in three months… I’m pretty sure the answer will still be the same.

Thank you to everyone who continues to follow and support this journey. If you would like to support Boomerang on the Road, please check out my online shop where I have Boomerang on the Road shirts and tote bags available.
